(For parties responding to the claims) I received a notification to attend a mediation. Do I have to attend the mediation even though I disagree with the claims?

Yes. Under the Employment Claims Act, the mediation process at TADM is compulsory before the claim can be filed with the Employment Claims Tribunals (ECT).

If you do not attend the mediation session, the claimant can request for the dispute to be referred to the ECT for a decision. The ECT may order you to pay costs to the claimant if you fail to attend mediation.
