Safety Time-Out Forum 2022

The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Roofing Association Singapore, Singapore Contractors Association Limited, and the Singapore Logistics Association, held an online Safety Time-Out (STO) Forum on 19 May 2022 over Facebook. 

It featured presentations on preliminary findings of recent fatal accidents, the safe use of equipment like forklifts and ladders, as well as good practices when working around fragile surfaces.

The STO forum followed the call from the MOM, WSH Council, industry associations and National Trades Union Congress for companies to conduct an STO to review their WSH management systems and learn from recent fatal cases to prevent similar recurrences. There was a spate of 10 workplace fatalities across various industries in April 2022, bringing the total number of fatalities in 2022 to 20, higher than the number of fatalities for the same period since 2016.
