256 Companies and Individuals Honoured at the WSH Awards and bizSAFE Awards 2021

The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council recognised a total of 256 companies and individuals at the WSH Awards and bizSAFE Awards Ceremony on 29 July 2021. 229 WSH Awards recipients were recognised for their outstanding WSH practices and exemplary safety records, and 27 bizSAFE Award recipients were honoured for implementing or advocating effective risk management processes. 

2. The Awards Ceremony was held through an interactive virtual platform, accessible at www.wshawards.sg. The virtual ceremony was attended by close to 800 guests, including WSH Council Chairman, Mr John Ng, Senior Minister of State for Manpower Mr Zaqy Mohamad, and Minister for Manpower Dr Tan See Leng, who delivered the Opening Remarks.

3. Features on the virtual platform include the ‘Award Recipients’ Hall of Fame, which showcases several inspiring stories of the award winners who have ensured that their workers went home safely and healthily to their loved ones. Guests were also encouraged to write congratulatory messages and take a photo at the virtual photobooth to share with their colleagues and friends. Profiles of several award recipients can be found in at Annex A, and a summary of the features of the virtual platform in Annex B. 
 
4. WSH Council Chairman Mr John Ng, said: “As Singapore moves towards living with an endemic COVID-19, we must not neglect our efforts in ensuring that our workers are safe and healthy. Today’s Award recipients are shining examples to inspire others that it is indeed possible to uphold good WSH practices in the face of the pandemic. I encourage everyone to continue to take time to take care of our workers, as we strive towards a healthy workforce in safe workplaces.”
