3P WSH Walkabout for the Construction Industry

About the Initiative
The National WSH Campaign 2025 was launched on 28 April with the theme “Reporting Saves Lives”, urging companies and workers to build a strong culture of safety through proactive reporting.

To extend this message, the WSH Council and industry partners are rolling out the annual 3P WSH Walkabout for the Construction Industry. The 3Ps stand for:

  • Proactive – Take preventive action before accidents happen
  • Prevention – Identify and eliminate hazards early
  • Partnerships – Strengthen collaboration across the industry

This industry-led effort will bring stakeholders together to make construction worksites safer.

Why it Matters
WSH vigilance is everyone’s responsibility. By applying the 3As of good safety practices, companies and workers can take immediate action to prevent harm:

  • Aware – Stay vigilant, be risk-aware
  • Assess – Assess whether to pause work
  • Act – Act to make it safe 

How You Can Take Part

  1. Plan Your Walkabout: Conduct a site walkabout between 22 September to 21 October at your own project sites to identify hazards and reinforce safe practices.
  2. Lead by Example: Involve top management to show visible commitment to WSH.
  3. Engage Your Team: Brief workers on the purpose of the Walkabout and encourage them to speak up.
  4. Work with Partners: Collaborate with unions, trade associations and chambers, and industry peers to share best practices and resources, especially with SMEs.

After completing your Walkabout, share with us your experience, challenges and success. This will help us measure industry participation and spread best practices. We may even feature your Walkabout on our publicity channels!
