MCSTs Play an Important Role in Keeping Our Workers Safe and Healthy

17 Nov 2023 Announcements

A Management Corporation Strata Title (MCST) is responsible for common properties in strata-titled properties such as residential housing (e.g. condominiums), commercial buildings (e.g. shopping malls) and mixed-use developments.

Under the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, a MCST may have duties to ensure all works on common properties are carried out safely. Depending on the contract agreement and circumstances, such works may be carried out by workers engaged by the MCST or its managing agent.

It is important for MCSTs to know and understand their WSH obligations, and work with their managing agents, contractors and vendors to protect workers’ lives and ensure their work can be done safely and healthily.

Read the Guide to WSH for MCSTs to find out what are your roles and responsibilities as an MCST, and what you can do to create a safer work environment for workers.
