The Well-being Champions Network's second engagement session featured a theme of “Well-being in Motion”.
In his speech, Senior Parliamentary Secretary (SPS) Mr Shawn Huang emphasised the pivotal role employers play in fostering safe and inclusive workplaces, and in supporting employees who are at risk of or recovering from mental health conditions.
SPS also officiated the launch of the Handbook on Supporting Employees’ Mental Health. This new resource serves as a practical guide for employers. It includes recommendations to help them create supportive, stigma-free workplaces where employees can seek help and recover safely.
It outlines three key recommendations:
- Nurture a positive workplace culture
- Establish a workplace support system
- Facilitate continued contribution
Employers can also refer to an infographic poster which summarises the recommendations to support their employees’ mental health.
At the launch, ARLANXEO, Keller Foundations, Wee Chwee Huat Scaffolding & Construction, and A*STAR shared how they have put the Handbook’s recommendations into action. Their efforts show how organisational care can be both compassionate and practical.
The engagement session saw participants immersing themselves in experiential workshops to explore how various strategies could be applied in their own work settings. The day concluded with the BIG Impact Challenge, where everyone reflected on how their learning contributes to building Belonging, Impact, and Growth at the workplace.
