Close to 250 professionals came together on the morning of 8 May 2025 for the Well-being Champions Network (WCN)’s first engagement event of the year. Held at A*STAR, a member of the WCN, the hybrid event centred on the theme “From Intent to Impact”, and what it takes to turn vision into sustained action.
The half-day session began with an insightful case study by A*STAR’s INFUSE team, who shared how the agency’s Well-being Ambassador network has been driving change from within, organising initiatives like mental health check-ins, small group outreach and manager-focused support.
A fireside chat followed, where leaders from Singtel, C&W Services and Airbus Asia Pacific offered candid insights and highlighted the importance of building trust, aligning well-being with business outcomes, and empowering teams at all levels.
Kaleidoscope Labs wrapped up the event sharing how to turn ideas into scalable, sustainable initiatives. He urged participants to not just think of funding, but also fundability, pointing to the need for clarity, data and alignment to secure long-term investment.
Interested participants were also treated to a Psychological First Aid roleplay, where trained facilitators demonstrated how action-based support techniques could be applied to real workplace scenarios. The roleplay enabled participants to appreciate how simple, timely responses could greatly support someone in distress.
In the afternoon, a segment of participants embarked on a deep dive into the evolving landscape of well-being leadership through two masterclasses. “Leading Well-being by Design” used LEGO® Serious Play® and Appreciative Inquiry to help leaders surface unspoken assumptions, share insights and co-create models of a thriving workplace. “Shaping Well-being by Design” explored the emotional side of leading change, emphasising psychological safety, clear communication and vulnerability.
Both sessions were experiential, offering not just frameworks and tools, but also space for self-inquiry and peer learning for the participants. Many left with practical strategies and a renewed sense of agency and inspiration to lead. Participants ended the day with a clearer understanding of workplace well-being not being a single initiative but a long-term culture shift brought about through leadership and ownership.
