On 19 October 2022, representatives from the Chemical and Marine sectors visited the Jurong Port Universal Terminal (JPUT), as part of the Jurong Island Vision Zero Working Group’s first cross-sector sharing in its series of WSH Learning Journeys. These site visits facilitate the cross-sharing of WSH best practices among companies which have pledged to the Vision Zero movement. 

During the site visit, participants learnt from JPUT’s initiatives on ensuring high workplace safety and health standards. JUPT also shared about past accident cases with learning points and recommendations on how to prevent future incidences.

In addition, JPUT presented their Health, Safety and Environment Management System, as well as the challenges in its implementation as an oil storage terminal. Through this sharing, both sectors learnt valuable lessons in planning suitable programmes to aid their respective industries to achieve Vision Zero. There was a lively and interactive Q&A session between the participants and JPUT, particularly regarding past accident cases.
