The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council, together with the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), co-organised two dialogue sessions on the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) on Chief Executives’ and Board of Directors’ WSH Duties.  The sessions were held on 26 Oct 2022 at Hotel Fort Canning and collectively attended by over 120 top management representatives.

The ACOP, which had been gazetted with effect from 31 October 2022, provides guidance to top executives and leaders to adequately fulfil their obligations under the WSH Act.  The dialogues began with Mr Christopher Koh, General Manager of WSH Council, explaining the ACOP’s objectives and how its “CORE” principles can be met.

Each sharing was followed by a Question-and-Answer segment with Mr Silas Sng, Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health and Mr Koh, and which was moderated by Ms Junie Foo, Member of SID’s Governing Council, and Mr Jerry Seah, Senior Director, Membership Development and Engagement, SNEF, respectively.  Discussions were fervent, as participants took the chance to clarify the intent of the ACOP and approach toward its implementation.
