Beat the Heat Managing Heat Stress at Workplaces

17 Jun 2022 Forum Past Event Heat Stress

Heat stress often results in serious health effects such as stroke, coma and even death. As Singapore enters the warmer months of April and May, the Ministry of Manpower and WSH Council held the “Beat the Heat: Managing Heat Stress at Workplaces” broadcast over Facebook, to raise awareness among employers and workers of the risk of heat stress while doing outdoor work.

The event covered the following topics:
optimising workplace health, safety and productivity in view of climate change;
recognising heat symptoms, acclimatisation and implementing first aid; and
conducting risk assessments and implementing a heat stress management programme.
