bizSAFE Awards 2022
The bizSAFE Awards recognise companies for their commitment to the bizSAFE programme and achievement in workplace safety and health performance.
About the bizSAFE Awards
The annual bizSAFE Awards recognise companies and individuals that:
- are dedicated to raising workplace safety and health (WSH) standards and practices.
- advocate WSH improvement to their business partners.
Award Categories
There are 3 main categories to the bizSAFE Awards:
bizSAFE Partner Award
About This Category
This category recognises bizSAFE Partners that have been proactive and committed in bringing business partners on board the bizSAFE programme.
Who May Apply
Your company must:
- not be a WSH service provider;
- be a current bizSAFE Partner;
- achieve bizSAFE Level 3 and above;
- implement bizSAFE Level 3 and above as a procurement criteria; and
- motivate existing business partners to progress to higher bizSAFE Levels.

Eligibility
Companies applying for the bizSAFE Partner Award should meet the following criteria during the qualifying period, up till the announcement of award results:
- No blacklist record, pending investigation, conviction or prosecution in court by the Ministry of Manpower;
- No fatality;
- No major injury case;
- No occupational disease case;
- No dangerous occurrence case;
- No Stop Work Order; and
- Not in the Business Under Surveillance (BUS) Programme.

What Happens Next
If your application is shortlisted, we will invite your company to showcase your efforts to a panel of judges. We will also hold a briefing session for all shortlisted companies before the judging session. More information will be provided at a later date.
During the judging session, you will present on the following topics:
- Recruitment efforts: Your company's efforts to encourage your business partners and customers to join and progress in the bizSAFE programme.
- Nurturing efforts: Your company's efforts to encourage and help your business partners and customers to improve WSH.
- Bonus initiatives: The extra mile your company has taken to win the bizSAFE Partner Award.

bizSAFE Enterprise Exemplary Award
About This Category
This category recognises bizSAFE STAR Enterprises that have exemplary risk management and workplace safety and health (WSH) performance.
Companies that have won this award for 3 consecutive years will be honoured with a Gold Award.
Who May Apply
Your company must:
- not be a WSH service provider;
- achieve bizSAFE STAR; and
- implement a Risk Management Plan that is holistic and pragmatic, where upstream risk controls and personal health risks are considered.

Eligibility
Companies applying for the bizSAFE Enterprise Exemplary Award should meet the following criteria during the qualifying period, up till the announcement of award results:
- No blacklist record, pending investigation, conviction or prosecution in court by the Ministry of Manpower;

- No dangerous occurrence case;
- No Stop Work Order; and

bizSAFE Champion Award
About This Category
This category recognises individuals who have been key players in improving safety and health performances in their workplaces. These are employees who have been appointed by their companies to lead and drive the successful implementation of WSH programmes to attain bizSAFE.
Who May Apply
You are eligible to nominate a champion for award if your company:
- is not a WSH service provider;
- is participating in the bizSAFE Enterprise Exemplary Award 2022 or bizSAFE Partner Award 2022 (limited to 1 champion nomination per company).
The nominated champion should:
- be a full-time employee of your company (non-WSH Officers will have an advantage);
- be active in driving WSH programmes and initiatives within the company for at least 2 years in the company;
- not be part of the management team (i.e. not in the top two tiers of your organisational chart);
- have attended the bizSAFE Level 2 course (Develop a Risk Management Implementation Plan) or its equivalent;
Eligibility
Companies nominating a champion for the bizSAFE Champion Award should meet the criteria for bizSAFE Enterprise Exemplary Award or bizSAFE Partner Award during the qualifying period, up till the announcement of award results.

What Happens Next
Shortlisted bizSAFE Champions will be invited to a judging interview. More information will be shared with shortlisted champions at a later date.

For Assessors of the bizSAFE Exemplary Award 2022
As an assessor, you must:
- not provide assessing services to the same applicant for more than two consecutive years;
- complete the declaration form for Assessor in the RM Implementation checklist.
- check with applicant to make sure they have received the confirmation email from WSH Council before carrying out the on-site assessment;
- conduct site verification in the presence of WSH Council officer and complete Part 2B of the application form;
- keep a copy of the application for reference; and
- provide a copy of your scoring to the Applicant.
